Bhumi feels young female stars now prefer to wear clothes they are comfortable in and the "Dum Laga Ke Haisha" actress credits internet for this change.
"Actresses have definitely started dressing up their age. Today you have so many options, things have become global. We wear international designers. You won't see actresses just wearing sarees or anarkalis to award functions or red carpets unlike how it was till a few years ago," Bhumi told PTI.
"I think after online platform bloomed five years ago, there's been a cross of style, exchange of culture has increased. That has changed fashion in India. Now, we can sort of identify our personal style, what we are comfortable in instead of following a pattern."
Bhumi also feels actresses are more open to street shopping and cheaper brands now.
"If you are getting something great at a cheaper price then you should go for it. I think actresses are more open about street shopping now. In fact we all shop from cheap brands too, we are no more brand conscious. We mix and match.
At the end of the day, it should be something which looks good on you.
The 27-year-old actress said she wishes to start her own make-up line one day.
"I love beauty and fashion. This is one of the highlights about my profession. My mom tells me, 'You are in the right line'. I have loved dressing up since childhood.
I hope one day I start my own make-up line. Make-up is something I am very passionate about. I hope that happens...." When asked whose fashion sense she admires in the industry, Bhumi said, "I love Sonam Kapoor. I think the way she dresses up is fantastic. Also, Alia dresses up really well and so does Athiya."
