He says "I like my stories to be rooted in reality. I love the fact that I'm talking about something that concerns you, me, or a person sitting outside my office. I like it when my stories can show something that has resonance in our lives. I feel comfortable with them, and also I feel they (the stories) need to be talked about."

Pandey is unusually self- effacing even after all his films have carved a niche and have been raking box offices , as A Wednesday , Special 26, Baby , Rustam, have garnered rave reviews and appreciation and love from audiences too.
The director's fourth feature, which was in the works for two and a half years , again a biopic inspired by the life of the Indian skipper MS Dhoni.
The film is all set to release this September and with the umpteen amount of buzz and curiosity surrounding his venture , this is sure to hit a six!
