Omung Kumar's 'Sarbjit' has garnered a lot of accolades ever since the film has released. The Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Randeep Hooda, Richa Chadha and Darsham Kumar starrer touched many hearts of the nation with its heart wrenching story and magnificent performances. The director Omung Kumar's work was also much appreciated, but getting an award is an appreciation of the highest form.

The proud director Omung Kumar was awarded the Best Director Award at The Indian Icon Film Awards (TIIFA), 2016. But that's not it! The Jagran Film Festival that took place recently awarded Sarbjit with a number of prestigious awards namely Best Actor - Randeep Hooda, Best Singer - Sonu Nigam and Best Costume Designer - Shaahid Amir


Omung Kumar was ecstatic to receive the respected award. ` It is the first ever award 'Sarbjit' has received and the first ever award I have received for 'Sarbjit'. Well, this is just the start. It was a lucky October for Omung Kumar with two prominent awards in his kitty, indeed, but with the kind of uproar 'Sarbjit' has created amongst the audiences, the film and the makers surely have many more awards coming their way.
