Having hit a record high number of 10 million views in just a day, Befikre trailer is trending on social media for its content and visuals. The trailer which has Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor falling in love in the French capital and experiencing different emotions has a lot of bold visuals that has got everyone talking. Aditya Chopra has cut a trailer that has drawn mixed responses. While some have found it physically intimate content, too bold, people have also decided the story of the film based on a two-minute trailer. A few have also pointed out influences of foreign films in its concept and visual imagery.
But you have to agree Befikre came as a breath of fresh air as it has no holds barred chemistry between a girl and boy who just want to live life their way. How many of us do that these days? Complications soon seep in and make us rethink our moves. Ranveer and Vaani's fun filled trailer injected us with energy as well as urging us to be carefree. But if you were trying to figure out the story from the trailer, you should stop doing that right now because there is nothing that you can make out from it since it was a well thought plan to not be a dead giveaway. And guess what? The strategy resembles that of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge's first trailer as well. No wonder that the trailer has already clocked 10 million views in just 24 hours!
In response, a Yash Raj spokesperson said, `In his strategy, Aditya Chopra didn't want to give the story or characters out in the trailer. He wanted everything to be discovered in the film. In the trailer, he only wanted to present the attitude of the film which is be carefree, be Befikre. In fact this strategy is very much in line with his first film trailer Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, which had no dialogue and was entirely discovered in the theatre. Right from his first film till date, he has been doing just that.` Isn't that a brilliant plan? To keep you hooked to the film till you discover it at the theatres? We are so dying to watch it now.
Keeping to Aditya Chopra's past films, trailers don't convey the story, focusing instead on vibe and feel. Given that these films have become blockbusters, responses to the Befikre trailer only indicate curiosity and interest from audiences. And we agree the vibe is really vibrant and liberating. Watching two good looking actor painting Paris red with a sensuous chemistry is something we have rarely seen on the big screen and that has made it so popular among the masses as well. December 9, please come already.
