MS Dhoni The Untold Story is on its way to becoming the second highest grossing film of the year after Salman Khan's Sultan.

Sushant Singh Rajput's juggernaut as MS Dhoni at the box office goes on and the film has hit the fortutious mark of Rs 200 crore. This makes MS Dhoni The Untold Story the most successful biopic of all time in Bollywood, leaving behind Farhan Akhtar's Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which had grossed Rs 109 crore by the end of its run. The producers said the film has grossed Rs 175 crore domestic and Rs 29 crore overseas till date. The biopic was released in Tamil, Telugu and Marathi given Dhoni's pan-India appeal.

The biopic of the limited over captain for the Indian cricket team, has grossed close to double of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and shows no sign of slowing down even after two weeks of its release. The film has benefitted from the lack of competition in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Mirzya which didn't trouble the cash registers too much.

MS Dhoni The Untold Story is well on its way to becoming the second most successful movie of the year behind Salman Khan's Sultan which grossed close to Rs 584 crore worldwide. The second being Airlift, which looks within the reach of the MS Dhoni biopic since it has another two weeks to cover the lead before the Diwali releases.

The film got middling reviews in terms of not really solving the mystery behind Captain Cool, but seems to have touched the audiences across the country. Actor Sushant has won rave reviews for his performance as Dhoni. The biopic is directed by Neeraj Pandey, and produced by Dhoni's associate Arun Pandey and Fox Star.
