Kangana Ranaut who had her brush with fame with Gangster is now making a comeback as Sana Azim (a
character inspired from Parveen Babi's life) in the film Woh Lamhe.
Talking about her Woh Lamhe, Ranaut confesses that she spent hours understanding her role in playing late Parveen Babi. She got so
deeply involved with the character that at the end she was emotionally disturbed due to it.
"I'm not smart enough like other actors to switch on and off as and when I like. When I was playing
Parveen, I adopted her lifestyle, her personality and somewhere at the back of my mind she was always
there. That's how I could bring out the emotions.
After playing the role of a traumatised and
schizophrenic woman, after a point, I was scared to sleep alone so I made my maid sleep in my room. It's
something that has never happened before," she tells.
Kangana strongly denying rumors about her
secret alliance with male co-star Shiny Ahuja, Kangana told Starnews on Friday that it was an occupational
hazard and she had to learn to live with it.
"I'll remain forever grateful to Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt
sahib for giving me a break like Gangster.
Newcomers dream of such a launch and I actually got it," she confessed.
When asked as to how her career had progressed so far, she remarked: "I am very satisfied with the way
things have gone till now. Earlier, I used to get nervous when I faced the camera. Today, I stick to the
basics. I follow simple acting tips and am learning to perform on the spot." She made it clear that she was
interested in doing acting-oriented roles only.
After doing two films with the Bhatt's production
house, Vishesh Films, Kangana is now working with other producers and directors as well. One of the three
films she will be acting in will be Anurag Basu's Metro.
The movie will have Kangana working with
senior actors like Kay Kay Menon, Konkana Sen, and
Shilpa Shetty and not to forget Shiney Ahuja. David Dhawan will direct another film.
