A source informed Mumbai Mirror that they have noted similarities between the series and the Hrithik Roshan-starrer.
"Protagonists of both the productions are blind while even the action sequences look the same. The colour schemes are also similar. This has upset Netflix and they will be taking legal action against Rakesh Roshan's FilmKraft Productions and Sanjay Gupta's White Feature Films," the source told the newspaper.
Sanjay Gupta has refuted the allegations of Netflix. Mumbai Mirror quoted him as saying, "It's a preposterous comparison because Hrithik (Roshan) is not a superhero in Kaabil. His character is of a blind man who does what he does best. In 'Daredevil', the protagonist fights 30 people at the same time. None of that is happening in Kaabil. If they sue us, we will definitely fight back."
'Kaabil', also featuring Yami Gautam, Rohit and Ronit Roy, is set to clash with Shah Rukh Khan's 'Raees' on January 25.
Incidentally, Shah Rukh Khan's production house Red Chillies Entertainment has announced a three-year deal with Netflix, in which films produced under the banner will be available for viewing to exclusive subscribers in India as well as worldwide.
