Even as Akshay Kumar's Rustom reaped rich benefits at the box office, not many know that Aamir Khan had been secretly working on his own film, which was to be based on the celebrated K.M. Nanavati case. Sources say that Aamir dived so deep into extensive research on the case that he even got Sylvia Nanavati, K.M. Nanavati's widow on board for the movie.
However, when two other films were announced based on the same case, the project fell apart. That is, until now. If sources are to be believed, the meticulous Khan is all set to revive the project in 2017.
Informs a reliable source, "Aamir was very eager to do a film on the Nanavati case. He collaborated with director Ram Madhvani for the same. After Ram directed the true-life account in Neerja so effectively, Aamir felt he was the best filmmaker to piece together the intricate jigsaw pieces for the real-life Nanavati case."
The two then went on to meet Sylvia, who now resides in London. Confirms the source, "Yes, they met Mrs Sylvia Nanavati, and she was enthusiastic about the project. After all, Aamir Khan, known to be a superstar with a conscience was doing it."
Then came the announcements that not only was Akshay collaborating with Neeraj Pandey for Rustom, but Pooja Bhatt and Soni Razdan had also spoken about Love Affairs, based on the case. Aamir's plans effectively took a backseat. But with 2017 dawning, Aamir's plans might finally see the light of day.
