Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announced the collection of the film on its second day. After minting Rs 2.86 crores on Friday on its opening weekend, the Gurmeet Choudhary, Sana Khan and Sharman Joshi starrer did not seem to take any impressive turn.
The makers of this erotic thriller moved its release date to December 16 in the wake of demonetisation. Its lead actor Gurmeet Choudhary had said they will pump up the marketing and promotion for two extra weeks to make the film even more viewer-friendly. However, nothing seems to be in its favour as even after having being the solo release this week, the film is facing strong competition with December 9 release Befikre, which stars Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor.
The film also marks the second erotic thriller for Sharman Joshi. His last release, Hate Story 3, did well at the box office. The film, which had released exactly a year ago, had practically the same team of producer (T-Series), director (Vishal Pandya) and actor (Sharman Joshi). It was a well-made film that had allowed the collections to cross Rs. 50 crore.
With the Aditya Chopra film already exceeding Rs 50 crore mark in the second week of release and Dangal ready to open on December 23, it is very unlikely if Wajah Tum Ho will do any better on the remaining days of the week. According to trade, Star Wars' offshoot Rogue One is expected to do better than Wajah Tum Ho. Rogue One, starring Felicity Jones also released in India on Friday.
