Recognizing and honouring the best talent in Hindi Cinema, the most awaited awards of the year, the 62nd JIO Filmfare Awards 2017, is all set to roll out its prestigious red carpet for the Hindi film industry. The date, for what is going to be a star studded awards night, was unveiled at a launch event at The Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai.

The 62nd Filmfare Awards will be held in partnership with JIO, a world-class all-4G network that is built for the internet and the only network conceived and born as a Mobile Video Network. It is a winning combination of the best of entertainment and the best of digital, coming together to give consumers an experience never seen before. Powered by Jio, the Filmfare Awards, current and past, will be showcased to consumers across the country in a variety of unique ways, digitally across the Jio apps with JioTV, JioCinema, JioMusic, and many more.

The event was marked with the lamp lighting ceremony in the presence of Worldwide Media CEO, Deepak Lamba and Filmfare Editor Jitesh Pillai who was accompanied by ace director Karan Johar and the actress par excellence Alia Bhatt.

Promising to be a glamorous affair filled with mesmerizing performances, the 62nd Jio Filmfare Awards 2017 will take place on 14th January 2017 at NSCI Dome, Worli. The badshah of Indian cinema, Shahrukh Khan and Karan Johar will host the ceremony and are sure to thrill audiences with their wit and charm. Joining them on stage will be Alia Bhatt as one of the performers of the night. With some great movies under her belt in 2016, this effervescent actress is sure to light up the Filmfare stage.

On associating with Filmfare this year again Karan Johar commented saying "It feels great to be associated with Filmfare and have a long standing family like relationship with Jitesh and the Filmfare team. I realised that I have been attending Filmfare awards since the year 1990. With each passing year I have moved a row forward at the Filmfare award ceremony from sitting at the end when I started my career in the Film Industry. It was my dream to get a Filmfare award and I used to practice my winning speech in my bedroom in front of the mirror. Despite having a long term relationship with Filmfare I have received only Filmfare awards in my entire career. Hence, it is not the award but the credibility and the history that makes me associate with Filmfare. Among all the awards i have a Filmfare trophy in my bedroom. You like it or hate it but you can't ignore the historic Filmfare Awards"

Commenting on the Filmfare awards Alia Bhatt stated"I congratulate Filmfare and Jio for their association with the iconic awards property. Taking Filmfare from celluloid to digital is a great step as digital is the order of the day. As a kid I used to get very excited to watch the telecast of awards as it used to be very interesting to see the surprising look on the face of the winner when their name used to get announced. That moment was priceless. During my first FIlmfare awards function after 'Student of the year, I sat through the entire show from start to end. I would like to do that once again in the near future as this year I will be performing which won't make it possible for me to attend the entire function without interruptions".

Filmfare is set to honor the most exceptional performances in Hindi cinema for the year 2016, by bestowing the coveted black lady to the winners yet again. The awards ceremony will be telecast on Sony.

The legacy driven awards property like each year has associated with contemporary entities that will help Filmfare entertain the audiences and acknowledge talent in the best possible way.
