Actress Aarti Chhabria will essay the role of Tarannum, the infamous bar dancer, in Apurva Lakhia's "Shootout at Lokhandwala".

Tarannum was arrested for her alleged involvement in a cricket betting racket in 2005.

In "Shootout..." Aarti works for 'Deepa Bar' and falls in love with a bhai, played by Tusshar Kapoor.

Aarti is excited about her role.

"I've read about Tarannum. I love doing challenging roles and I'm glad I got this opportunity. I hope my fans appreciate my work in the film."

The film boasts a huge star cast - Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and Viveik Oberoi.

Playing someone who has recently made headlines is indeed difficult, but trade pundits are sure Aarti will do justice to her role.
