Vidya Balan who is known for playing women-centric characters on screen is now back with Srijit Mukherji`s directorial venture `Begum Jaan`. Which is Hindi adaptation of critically acclaimed `Rajkahini`, which was also directed by Srijit Mukherji in Bengali.

It`s a period saga of India-Pakistan partition as the backdrop. Vidya is playing the character of a brothel owner and she is ready to sacrifice her life along with other women of the brothel to save their home, which is going to be demolished.

Apart from Vidya; Naseeruddin Shah, Chunky Pandey, Rajit Kapur, Ashish Vidyarthi, Gauahar Khan, Pallavi Sharda and Ila Arun are playing the pivotal roles in the film. But trailer suggests that Vidya is going to steal the show.
