Taapsee Pannu's high octane stunts in Baby (2015) inspired the makers to come up with a spin-off, Naam Shabana, which explores the backstory of the actress' secret agent character.

Neeraj Pandey is now planning to make films focussed on other pivotal characters played by Rana Daggubati, Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher and Danny Denzongpa.

The original film featured a strong ensemble cast and there is a potential to explore the backstory of each of them. The makers have decided to explore that possibility.


Anupam Kher has also expressed his keen interest to Akshay Kumar and the entire 'Baby' team that the next spin-off must be made on his character, Shuklaji!

The 'Baby' cast will be seen doing cameos in 'Naam Shabana,' where Taapsee Pannu plays the titular role of an undercover agent. The film is based on her 20-minute role in 'Baby,' and she will be seen in an all-new action avatar, performing daredevil stunts and power-packed sequences.

Gulshan Kumar and Cape of Good Films presents, A Plan C Studios production Neeraj Pandey's Naam Shabana directed by Shivam Nair is all set to release on 31st March 2017.
