The film is set in Delhi and sees Raveena playing Vidya, who is left shattered after her daughter Tia`s gruesome murder. What makes matters worse is the lax attitude of the police and the judiciary towards the case. When her husband and the cops offer her no support, Raveena`s character takes it upon herself to seek revenge and mete out punishment to the culprits.

Written by Michael Pellico and directed by Ashtar Sayed, `Maatr` once again brings the spotlight on the rampant rape incidents in Delhi. It also highlights how the police and the judiciary system in India fail to bring the culprits to book, in the face of such a heinous crime. The trailer ends on a chilling note - it states "While you were watching the trailer, a girl was raped somewhere in the country. Time to think. Time to act."
`Maatr` is set to hit the theatres on April 21, 2017.
