The 2:23-minute trailer starts with an introduction of Salman Khan`s character, Laxman Singh Bisht, who is nicknamed Tubelight because he seems slightly slower than others. Tubelight is a term used in several parts of India to mock people with less-than-average IQ.
His real-life brother, Sohail Khan, plays his real-life brother and his best friend, Bharat, joins the Indian Army only to realize the hardships of a soldier`s life.
Then the trailer takes a sudden twist and Bharat goes missing. Nobody other than Laxman thinks he will return one day, and thus unfolds the theme of the film: belief and trust. The film`s punchline `Kya tumhe yakeen hai` (Do you believe?) arrives at this crucial juncture.

Tubelight`s trailer is definitely interesting and has a thematic resemblance with Bajrangi Bhaijaan (probably because both share the same director). As the clip progresses, it leaps effortlessly from intriguing to soulful. Keeping international markets in the mind, the makers have roped in Chinese actor Zhu Zhu for an important role in the film.
With films like Dangal and Baahubali 2 rewriting history at foreign box offices, Tubelight could be the next money-spinner on the list.
The movie hits the screens on Eid 2017.
