Having received immense appreciation for the film's trailer, the makers of Aksar 2 were a tad bit anxious about the reaction from audiences when they recently released the first song titled Aaj Zid.

Especially after the enormous success of the music of the first installment, there was a certain pressure when it came to delivering their first song. Of course they did not disappoint the audience with Aaj Zid which is a rage on YouTube with more than 8 million views and innumerable positive responses!

To this director Ananth Mahadevan said, `Aaj Zid has crossed the 8 million mark invoking memories of the 2006 chartbuster Aksar. With Jaana Ve, we cross further into romantic melody zone and will seal the "album of the year" rating for Aksar 2. The film will be an edge of the seat outing for the full family. Ladies will find themselves rooting for it as will the men when the one-upmanship mind games keep them biting their nails to guess the finish. The musical family suspense drama is back after a long long time!`

Lauded music composer Mithoon added, `I was really happy when tips informed me that my song Aaj Zid from Aksar 2 has crossed 8 Million views. It's a very fulfilling feeling for any artist when his work is accepted in this larger number and I have been told that from tips that it is completely organic which is a good thing. I would like to thank Sayeed Quadri Sahab for giving me such brilliant words I think which is the USP and Arijit is also sounding great as ever and yes it has been an interesting song for me because I tried to depart from my style which I otherwise do, good to know that people have liked it and it has clicked with audience.`

Directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan, with music composed by Mithoon and lyrics penned by Sayeed Quadri, Aksar 2 stars Gautam Rode, Abhinav Shukla, Zareen Khan, Mohit Madaan, Lillete Dubey and Sreesanth. The film is slated to release on October 6th, 2017.
