The most awaited non fiction political thriller 'An Insignificant Man' is all set to hit the screens soon. While the film unfolds various intriguing facts about the political scenario in India, here's an interesting fact about the film.

'An Insignificant Man' stands to be the largest crowdfunded film in India with a total of 782 contributors. People have contributed funds ranging from as less as Rs.10 to as hefty as Rs. 1.5 Lakhs.

The political thriller presented by the global media giant Vice, produced by Memesys Lab is co produced by Sundance, Bertha Foundation, DocSociety, AND Busan, IDFA.

Talking about the same producer Anand Gandhi said, "With this film, we have managed to strike at the heart of the political conversation in India. Everybody had an opinion on the AAP and we wanted to build a bridge between our film and the community at large with our crowdfunding campaign. 'An Insignificant Man' is one of the biggest and probably the most successful crowdfunding campaigns in India wherein we raised over six times our target goal. Support poured in from all quarters in varied quantities with an outstanding number of 782 crowd funders extending their support for the film. People have contributed amounts ranging from as less as Rs.10 to as big as Rs. 1 Lakh. The film then went on to garner international support and backing by organisations like Sundance, Bertha Foundation, DocSociety, AND Busan, IDFA amongst others. These organisations have previously supported Oscar winning journalistic films."

The film which had been facing censor troubles, goes behind the scenes to document Arvind Kejriwal and his insurgent party's rise to power. The three minute sneak peek promises a thrilling look at the gritty realities of a new political party.

Directors Khushboo Ranka and Vinay Shukla recorded 400 hours of footage over the course of a year, capturing the clashes between idealism and politics during AAP's 2013 election campaign.

Interestingly, both good and bad perceptions of the AAP are highlighted by the trailer. Taking an unbiased approach, it leaves the viewer to wonder and draw their own conclusions. The lack of interviews and voice overs give it a cinematic feel, bringing the viewer up, close and personal with democracy.

'An Insignificant Man', directed by Khushboo Ranka and Vinay Shukla under the banners of Global media giant Vice and Memesys Lab produced by Anand Gandhi is slated to release on 17th November, 2017.
