Priyanka Chopra is riding high these days with the success and fame she is getting these days but things were not always same for the 'Desi Girl'. In her early days in the industry when she was struggling to prove her mark as an actress, there were many obstacles for her as well.

Recently Madhu Chopra, Priyanka's mother revealed that even Priyanka Chopra lost many projects just because she said no to some unwanted demands.

Talking to a leading daily Dr. Madhu Chopra says, "A designer told her that the director's brief was to dress her in itsy-bitsy clothes. The director had said, 'What is the point of having a Miss World in front of the camera if we cannot show her as her beautiful self?' Priyanka refused to do the film."


Madhu Chopra also said, "Priyanka had to pay the price but she 'didn't care': "It was being helmed by a reputed director and he got upset. Priyanka lost 10 films because she walked out of that project."

Talking about another incident Madhu Chopra said, "She was just 17 when she entered the industry, so I accompanied her every minute of the day till about three years ago. So a gentleman meets her and says: 'Will your mother sit outside while I narrate the story to you?' Priyanka told him, 'If it is a story that my mother can't hear then it is a story that I cannot do'."

Priyanka who is currently in the USA and shooting for her hit American TV series 'Quantico' has recently been listed by Forbes on the List Of 100 Most Powerful Women. Forbes placed Priyanka on the 15th spot on the list of Most Powerful Women In Entertainment And Media.

Apart from 'Quantico', Priyanka is also gearing up for her next Hollywood releases, Isn't It Romantic? and A Kid Like Jake.
