2018 is proving to be a year of clashes with films set to share screen spaces in theatres upon release. One of the most talked about clashes of this year has been the face off of the 'Baby' team of Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey.

In an interesting turn of events, Akshay Kumar 's Padman is all set to clash with Neeraj Pandey's Aiyaary once again.

Aiyaary which was initially slated to be a Republic Day release postponed its release date upon the announcement of Sanjay Leela Bhansali' s Padmaavat on January 25th.

The makers of Aiyaary decided to break the clutter and release their espionage thriller on February 9th, 2018, thus averting a clash with Padman and Padmaavat.

However, just a week before release Padman announced its postponement to February 9th, giving Padmaavat a solo release over the Republic Day weekend.

The date change has Akshay Kumar once again locking horns with his 'Special 26' director Neeraj Pandey. Ironically, it is for the second time that Padman will be sharing the same release date as Aiyaary. Earlier too team Aiyaary had announced its release on 26th Jan and Padman had followed suit by marking the same day.

With the recent turn of events, both Padman and Aiyaary are back to clash in the big screens on February 9th.

The clash was welcomed with a witty tweet by team Aiyaary, who wrote, "Good to have you back! See you on 09.02.18".

The gesture was replied to by team Padman as they wrote,".@aiyaary ke saath yaari to purani hai! See you on 09.02.18. 🙌🏻".

Padman is a film inspired by the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social activist from Tamil Nadu who revolutionized the concept of menstrual hygiene in rural India. Directed by R Balki, the film stars Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in lead roles.

'Aiyaary' revolves around two strong-minded army officers having completely different views, yet right in their own ways, the film portrays Sidharth Malhotra as an army officer sharing a mentor-protege bond with Manoj Bajpayee. Starring Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra as the mentor and protege, Neeraj Pandey directorial 'Aiyaary' also stars Anupam Kher, Naseeruddin Shah, Rakul Preet Singh, Kumud Mishra, Pooja Chopra, Adil Hussain and Vikram Gokhale in pivotal roles.
