Farhan Akhtar confessed about getting inspired by the Prime Minister's leadership in the area of ending gender discrimination.
In the personal capacity, Farhan Akhtar has been working towards this social issue since about 5 years now, with his initiative MARD, Men against Rape and Discrimination. He has represented the voice of numerous concerned men on the significant issue of gender equality and violence against women and girls in India through his campaigns.
He is very determined about spreading awareness of this social issue and working towards bringing about changes in the society with his dialogues with the masses.
Farhan Akhtar was also announced as UN Women's Goodwill Ambassador for South Asia. He is the first man to be chosen as a Goodwill Ambassador in the organization's history.
