The actress hails from Delhi and is born in a Punjabi family, and is Punjabi from the heart. while everything of her character comes naturally to her she's been taking these extra efforts to nail the flow of the language.
For practicing the flow and diction of the language no people better than her parents to talk to for getting it correct.
Kriti lives independently in Mumbai and makes sure she visits her parents regularly in Delhi and talk to them every day, but now she's made a point to speak to her parents in Punjabi.
When asked Kriti about it, she shared, "I am from Delhi so I already have the North Indian accent, but then the language and the style of speaking also changes from region to region. Since the film is set in Punjab I will have a bit of Punjabi accent. I am Punjabi but we never spoke in the language at home and would talk in Hindi. I will probably also be chatting with Diljit in Punjabi a lot more"
The actress is redefining small-town characters, her debut movie Heropanti had a different aspect of the small town, and her latest film Bareilly ki Barfi was totally another aspect.
Yet again the actress is going to redefine the small town role.
