Disha Patani who is riding high on the success of her last release 'Baaghi 2' is all set to feature as warrior princess in Sanghamitra.

Disha has been roped in to play the lead in this period drama and film will go on floors this July.

The film was announced at the Cannes film festival by Shruti Haasan, who was initially the leading lady. However, she later backed out of the project.

It was only in October 2017, that the makers stated that Disha would now star in the ambitious project.

Disha will be learning sword-fighting as a prep for the period drama set in the 8th century AD. The film also stars Tamil actor Jayam Ravi and Arya in pivotal roles. It will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and will reportedly be made on a budget of Rs 400 crore.
