Vivek Agnihotri showcases the first look of his next – The Tashkent Files at Cannes Film Festival

The much acclaimed film-maker Vivek Agnihotri recently screened 15 minutes of his upcoming investigative thriller - The Tashkent Files at the Cannes Film Festival. The first look was presented to Colin Burrows, CEO, Special Treats Productions and Prasoon Joshi, Chairman, CBFC at Cannes Film Festival. The film which stars Shweta Basu and veteran actors like Naseeruddin Shah and Mithun Chakraborty, is based on the mysterious death of the second prime minister of India - Lal Bahadur Shashtri.

The screener was showcased as a part of the official Cannes market screening, Government of India official screening and Vivek Agnihotri himself is a part of the international panel. The makers got an overwhelming response and have managed to create a lot of intrigue amongst the people present at the screening.


The Tashkent Files is the first crowd sourced film and has a stellar star cast of 5 national award winning actors.

The film is produced by Pranay Chokshi, Haresh Patel, Pallavi Joshi and co-produced by Sharad Patel and Anuya Ritesh Kudecha.
