Cine star Pooja Bhatt was injured in a road accident here Friday evening when her vehicle had a side-on collision with another.

Police officials, however, said the actress-turned-filmmaker suffered minor injuries on her face and nose and was out of danger.

The accident took place near the junction leading to the beach village of Bogmalo, about 2 km from the Dabolim airport - Goa's lone airport, around 25 km from here - when the Maruti Zen she was travelling collided with an oncoming van.

Pooja, who had come to attend the 37th International Film Festival of India, was on her way to the airport when the accident took place.

"The accident took place at around 3.30 p.m.," police spokesperson Dinraj Govekar said.

The driver of the other vehicle was identified as Sitakant Ingekar. Police have registered a case.
