Family members and Bollywood celebrities took to social media to pay their tribute.
Krishna died at 4 in the morning after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Taking to Instagram, Riddhima, the elder daughter of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor also posted a picture of her 'dadi' from her family vacation in Paris. "I love you- I will always love you - RIP dadi" she wrote.
Praising her impeccable personality, celebrities like Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon, Anupam Kher, Soha Ali Khan, Anupama Chopra, Farah Khan and Madhur Bhandarkar paid their tributes minutes after Krishna's death was announced.
While Aamir remembered her as 'an institution in living life', Farah called her "the most beautiful lady of our industry".

Raj Kapoor married Krishna Malhotra in May 1946. It was a match arranged by their families. The couple have five children including three sons- actors Randhir, Rishi and Rajiv, and two daughters, Ritu Nanda and Rima Jain.
