Amazon Prime Video Original and Excel Entertainment's Mirzapur presents the deadly Guddu Pandit in the much-awaited web series. As the actor prepped for his character, Ali Fazal opened up about his experience shooting in Purvanchal.

Ali Fazal who has earlier won hearts with his sweet and boy next door characters is all set to surprise the audience as he slips into the deadly avatar of Guddu Pandit. The actor underwent an immense transformation for his character adapting the mannerisms of Guddu Pandit.

The actor shared his experience of exploring the local places in Banaras from the Purvanchal region saying, "The one thing that helped me to prep for the character was chilling at gun shops in Banaras, there are many shops in Banaras like there are more gun shops than general stores there. The best conversations happen right outside the gun shops, inside you have no work."

With heart-pounding action, violence at an operatic scale, gangsters with sharp minds and dry humor, Mirzapur is a hinterland story that is as raw as it gets.

Mirzapur is a lawless land filled with moments of heart-pounding action where the only rules are laid by none other than Kaleen Bhaiya aka Pankaj Tripathi. The recently released trailer showcases the journey of two brothers lured by the idea of power only to get consumed by it. With heart-pounding action, violence at an operatic scale, gangsters with sharp minds and dry humor, Mirzapur is a hinterland story that is as raw as it gets, the makers say.

The thrilling and gripping crime drama stars an ensemble cast of Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey, Divyendu Sharma, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur, and Amit Sial promising a powerhouse of talent in the same frame.

Created by Karan Anshuman and Puneet Krishna, produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment, Amazon Prime Video's Mirzapur is directed by Gurmeet Singh and will start streaming from November 16th.
