The makers of Sonchiriya organised the special event wherein they have gone ahead to launch the extension of the trailer titled as 'The Rebels of Sonchiriya'. Director Abhishek Chaubey feels great to release the special video of Sonchiriya which will give you the sneak-peak into the world of Sonchiriya.

The video shows the inside tour of Sonchiriya, some rustic action sequences and detailed introduction to all the characters.

The caption of the Ship, director Abhishek Chaubey has expressed his take on the recently released video of 'The Rebels of Sonchiriya'. Abhishek said, "So the new Sonchiriya trailer is out and from what I hear it is being loved by people and that's just great because that's what people hoping for. What we really wanted to in this trailer is, we wanted to give people the sense of the rhythm and give a sense of the action of the film to the people. In the other trailers that we have done so far what we actually did, we conveyed that the film is very intense it is very fiery but in this trailer what we wanted to do was to give people the sense of the fun that they can have watching a film that is nail-biting which is very thrilling and has an incredible pace and rhythm in all the action set pieces that they gonna watch. And I think that is something that people can derive lots of entertainment from when they will come to watch the film in the theatre. and that's what we are trying to do and we have been largely successful in doing that."


The story of Sonchiriya is set in the 1970s showcasing a small town ruled and dominated by dacoits. Multiple gangs fight over the struggle to attain power. The cast dons fierce avatars in sync with the theme of the film.

Talking about some detailed information of the film Abhishek added, "This is an edgy film, its got edgy characters but it also got the character who's got a quirk. This is a film which has a lot of action but not all of it is about being too intense or saying something important. There are also some thrilling set pieces so that people can come and watch at the edge of the seat sort of entertainment. and I think that's what we tried to do and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I hope people go to the theatre to watch the film and enjoy themselves."

Starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey, and Ashutosh Rana in lead roles, Sonchiriya presents tale set in the era of dacoits.

Sonchiriya promises to be a power packed action film giving a glimpse of the glorious years if dacoits in central India. Shot in the valleys of Madhya Pradesh, Sonchiriya presents an ensemble cast with an intriguing storyline.

Directed by Abhishek Chaubey who has earlier presented 'Udta Punjab' and 'Ishiqiya', 'Sonchiriya' presents a rooted tale set in Chambal. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP, The movie is slated to release on 1st March 2019.
