Newcomer Abhay Deol shrugs off gossip linking him to "Ahista Ahista" co-star Soha Ali Khan, saying such
rumours are "part of the job".
"It happens all the time. You do get linked up. I feel it's part of the job and it doesn't take much to get
linked. That's all I have to say about it because I am not comfortable talking about my personal life," Abhay
told over phone.
Right now he is gearing up for his funny act in Reema Kagti's directorial debut "Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd"
in which he is paired with Minissha Lamba.
"In the film, six couples go on a honeymoon. I play Parsi boy Aspi who is married to Zara (Minissha) and
we are madly in love with each other. It's more of a comic role and at the same time romantic in its own
way. The script has given an interesting twist to my character and that's the reason I signed the film," he
said.
Though the cast includes Shabana Azmi-Boman Irani, Raima Sen-Kay Kay Menon, Amisha Patel-Karan
Khanna, Sandhya Mridul-Vikram Chatwal and Dia Mirza-Ranvir Shorey, Abhay is confident that he won't get
lost.
"My character is too much a part of the story and if I do my job, I will get noticed. Each couple has their
time on screen," he asserted.
Abhay said: "Reema was driven. Though this is her first film, she has been around for quite sometime and
understands the medium very well."
"I have worked in six films so far and all my directors were new. My expectations are very high from each
film that I do. Because the people I work with don't have a big party to launch us, we have to work very hard
to prove ourselves."
Abhay's next release will be "1:40 Ki Last Local", which "is a one-night story. It revolves around a guy who
misses his last train. It's a dark comedy and my character has a bad night while waiting for his next local. I
love black comedies."
He is also working in murder mystery "Manorama - Six Feet Under".
"The film is directed by my friend Navdeep. I have known him for a long time. He is an ad filmmaker and this
is his first feature film. My co-stars are Gul Panag and Raima Sen. Right now we are shooting in Rajasthan
and we are going to wrap up the shooting by the end of the month.
"I am not playing a conventional Rajasthani guy, but a middleclass working guy. I am experimenting with
my looks and you will see me with a moustache and a side parting in the film," added Abhay.
