The Queen of content Ekta Kapoor is back on her OTT platform ALT Balaji with yet another release 'The Verdict: State vs. Nanavati' which is based at the end of 1959, and this is not the first time that she is creating a content related to such different period. Ekta aces it with every nuance of capturing and recreating a spectrum of era, all the time.
Earlier, Ekta has delivered projects like 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbai' which was based on the lives of Mumbai underworld gangsters Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim. The film narrates the story of 1970s Bombay. In another attempt, Ekta Kapoor made 'Bose: Dead or Alive' which narrates the intriguing tale of India's biggest cover up story regarding Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's presumed death. The historical period drama Web Television miniseries was set in the 1940s.
Now, Ekta has returned with another period drama with 'The Verdict - State Vs Nanavati' which presents the most controversial cases of our country, wherein a naval officer Kawas Nanavati shot the man his wife was involved with and the consequential arduous trial which took place. It's based in 1959 Bombay, when the city was basking in the new found independence that the country had fought for, the remnants of the British Bombay and Parsi and Sindhi community sensibilities.
Needless to say, Ekta is known for the detailing of her projects, essaying of the aesthetics of the period which her dramas are set in, and displaying the palatial significance of the life of a particular era with the grandeur of the history attached!
