Focusing on the practice of 'Pakadwa Shaadi' which is an ancient tradition that has been prevalent in the northern towns of India and even though, it has become a major business in the state of Bihar to kidnap grooms and force them to marry brides until the movie was announced, most people in the country were unaware of this popular practice.
The movie is based on true stories and is a work of semi-fiction with facts integrated from all the inspiration from real incidents. It shows why Ekta Kapoor was so fascinated by the concept of the movie, being able to produce a movie that's content-driven even though its majorly an entertainer for the fans.
With unique characters, the makers took references from the popular Bahubalis of Bihar to get the nuances of the character right which the makers have captured in Sidhanth's character. A mix and match of different people's characteristics were incorporated into Abhay Singh, a role that Sidharth has played with panache.
Jabariya Jodi is an entertaining, quirky film that also stars Aparshakti Khurana, Sanjay Mishra, Jaaved Jaaferi, Neeraj Sood, Gopal Dutt and Chandan Roy Sanyal.
