It's a sad and a rather unfortunate day for the country as we lost one of the most beloved leaders Sushma Swaraj. The veteran BJP leader and current Home Minister bid farewell Tuesday night as she died of a cardiac arrest in AIMS Hospital, New Delhi. Sushma Swaraj, as remembered by her peers, was a well-articulated and robust leader with a razor-sharp wit; someone not afraid of making emboldening decisions. As the nation is still reeling in from this sudden demise, Bollywood in a spirit of solidarity paid its respects and made solemn tributes to the dynamic leader.

Disha Patani posted minutes ago, saying, "A leader loved and respected by people of all political beliefs May her soul rest in peace #RIPSushmaji", while Mallika Sherawat expressing her sorrow with a brief tweet stating "Sad to hear about the passing away of #SushmaSwaraj ji #RIPSushmaSwaraj "

Akshay Kumar also offered his condolences and expressed his admiration in a tweet saying, " Extremely sad to hear about the passing away of #SushmaSwaraj ji.. she was such a dynamic leader, someone who was unanimously admired and respected by all. My thoughts and prayers with her family. May her soul rest in peace. "

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachhan gave a rather poetic remembrance, calling Sushma Swaraj as someone who transcends adjectives such as soft spoke, compelling and sociable. Rakul Preet Singh, who'll be seen in the upcoming Telugu rom-com Manmadhudu 2 conveyed her grief via a tweet stating "India has lost a great leader !!" and continued with her admiration, "She was loved and respected! RIP ma'am #SushmaSwarajji."

Anil Kapoor tweeted, "It's with a heavy heart that we bid goodbye to the fierce leader and exceptional human being that was @SushmaSwaraj ji. Her loss will be felt deeply by the whole nation as we keep the memory of her leadership & wisdom alive in our hearts...RIP Iron Lady 🙏"

Karan Johar wrote, "#RIPSushmaSwarajJi ...an amazing leader, orator and minister..... condolences to the family...🙏🙏🙏"

Anushka Sharma tweeted, "Saddened to hear about the sudden demise of Sushma Swaraj ji . May her soul rest in peace 🙏"

Rakulpreet Singh: "India has lost a great leader !! She was loved and respected! RIP ma'am #SushmaSwarajji 🙏"

Parineeti Chopra: "I hail from Ambala Cantt, same as Sushma Swaraj ji. Always felt proud that a woman from our small town made it big, and made a difference. Sushma ji rest in peace. You inspired me on a personal level. #RIPSushmaSwarajJi."

Boman Irani: "A force of nature she was. Too young to go. Saddened to hear this untimely news. A nation's loss. #SushmaSwaraj #RIPSushmaSwaraj."

Gauahar Khan wrote, "Why r we losing all good leaders ! So sad with this news ! 😯😥 May she rest in peace #SushmaSwarajJi 🙏🏻 a strong, dynamic leader !"

Bollywood actor and BJP MP Sunny Deol offered his condolences and wrote, "My sincere condolences on passing away of #Sushmaswaraj ji. One of the finest leader of our country. She was special and we will miss her.Sending my prayers to family and friends."

Sushma Swaraj will be forever remembered as a people's minister, who made an indelible mark not only with her oratory prowess, but also fiery tweets and personal engagement with masses on Social Media. Her final tweet was her congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his Kashmir triumph. She will be forever remembered as a formidable leader of action and efficiency, a towering personality who is going be a hard act to follow; perhaps forever.
