On what could have been her 56th Birthday yesterday, Vidya Balan commemorated the occasion by posting the cover of the book which is a monochrome photo portrait featuring Sridevi herself. Published by Penguin Random House India, the book is being written by author and screenwriter Satyarth Nayak. Boney Kapoor, the husband of the late actress has also given the project his blessings.
'Sridevi Girl Woman Superstar' documents the life and times of Sridevi in the film industry.
Her journey is extraordinary, to say the least, as she emerged as a female superstar in the male-dominated film industry. Apart from her Bollywood days, the book will also detail her cannon of films in the South Indian Film Industry.
Satyarth Nayak expressed his gratitude, saying " I have always been a huge admirer of Sridevi and this book gave me the perfect opportunity to celebrate the journey of India's beloved screen goddess. It was wonderful interacting with various film personalities that she worked with over the years and put together their memories and stories into a narrative that charts her saga from
a child star to India's first female superstar."
Satyarth Nayak made his debut in 2014 with the fictional novel 'The Emperor's Riddles' and has written award-winning short stories which later appeared in Sudha Murthy's anthology 'Something Happened on the Way to Heaven'. 'Sridevi Girl Woman Superstar' is his foray in the world of non-fiction writing.
