In a recent interview with a portal, the 'Kahaani' actress revealed her previously unknown brush-ins with Bollywood. She very candidly spoke about her first experience with casting couch, saying, "One day I remember I was in Chennai and this director came to meet me. I said let's sit in the coffee shop and he kept insisting that he wants to talk to me and that we should go to the room. I left the door of my room open and he left within five minutes. This incident suddenly struck me today when I'm talking about this."
She also remembered her initial days of failure and sheer rejections. She was also made ashamed of her body and it took a long time to find a path of acceptance. Vidya Balan has certainly come a long way since then, but her story is an important cautionary tale for ages.
She made her Bollywood debut with 'Parineeta', and since then starred in hits such as 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' (2006), 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' (2007), 'The Dirty Picture' (2011), 'Kahaani' (2012), and recently Mission Mangal (2019). She will be seen in the titular role of Maths wizard Shakuntala Devi's biopic.
