Varun Sharma, Navin Polishety, Tushar Pandey, Tahir Raj Bhasin have spoken about their experience working with director Nitesh Tiwari, of 'Dangal' fame, whom they endearingly refer to as 'genius'.
The movie is in its promotional phase and actor Varun Sharma shares his experience with the director Nitesh Tiwari. `It's absolutely been a magical experience to be directed by Nitesh Sir. I think it's every actor's dream to be in his film or work with him in any capacity. I especially have been a huge fan of Nitesh Sir's work right from Chillar Party to Dangal, and to be a part of his directed film is just like a blessing.`
The actor further added, `There is so much to learn as an actor, I think I have witnessed a massive growth as an actor while working with him and on top of that I've learnt a lot as a human. There are certain tendencies you sort of absorb while working with someone else for a long time, you transcribe few traits in yourself and utilise it later in life, and that happened with me. His passion towards cinema, towards story telling is so beautiful to see I think it's one of the most amazing and honest experiences for me that I had on a film set. I am really thankful and blessed to be in a film directed by Nitesh Tiwari Sir.`
Tahir Raj Bhasin who's the great admirer of the work of Nitesh Tiwari and talking about the same he said, `Watching Nitesh Tiwari work is nothing short of magic. He is incredibly precise with his pre production and knows exactly what he wants out of his actor in a scene , yet he is collaborative and open to ideas. Discovering Derek's character was a step by step process that he steered right from our script readings to discussion on costumes and hair styles . Hearing Nitesh sirs own stories from his time of being a Chhichhora in college and seeing his old hostel pictures was an invaluable part of my prep. His calm creative leadership mixed with his ability to bond and be one of the boys gave the sets of chhichhore an incredibly fun energy , this was only fueled further by Nitesh sirs insatiable love for Gulab Jamuns!"
Naveen Polishetty who is making his Bollywood debut with Chhichhore and while talking about the director Nitesh Tiwari the actor said, `Well, what can I say about working with Nitesh Sir, when I got a call that I was selected for Chhichhore I was really very anxious as it's my first Hindi Film and it was being directed by the persom who delivered the highest grossing Hindi Film of all times - Dangal. When I walked in the meeting I was like I am going to meet a 2000 crore director, however when I walked out of the meeting I felt like I am meeting a senior from my college. On the first day I think we spoke for around 4 hours about life at an engineering college and hostel stories and that was such an enduring beginning, I still remember.`
The actor further added, `As I got to know him through the making of this film, I thought this man cannot be true because you know In India, there are certain items you can check off on a list to be a perfect man. For instance, academically, he has gone to IIT Bombay, which is the best college in the country hence Off the list, followed by advertising he absolutely killed it there and creatively he nailed it in his job. He made Dangal, such a wonderful film that turned out to be highest grossing film ever hence that too off the list. He is a funny man, extremely funny, witty and charming man. He is extremely kind and compassionate and sums up to be just an amazing human being. I think I surely aspire to be like him someday. I Just didn't want the film to end because I dint want to stop working with him or just being around with him. I love him so much.`
Tushar Pandey also shared his experience working with Nitesh Tiwari, `He is a genius storyteller. I'm absolutely fortunate to have worked with him. He boasts immense confidence in his actors and makes you feel so comfortable that playing a tough scene becomes enjoyable. He makes you laugh, think, and most importantly reflect just like a friend would. Couldn't have imagined for a better experience than this!"
