Hailing from a non-filmy background, model and dance instructor Simrrann Sabarwal made her debut with the Punjabi movie 'Ishq My Religion'.

Written and directed by Gurdeep Dhillon, the movie 'Ishq My Religion' is about love surpassing the limits set in the name of religion. The film introduces Simrran Sabarwal and Bobby Dhillon as the lead pair. Also, the movie includes a strong star cast like Mukesh Rishi, Rahul Dev, Yaad Grewal, Aman Dhaliwal, Yashpal Sharma, Mahreen Kaleka, Dolly Minhas, Vikram Sirohiwall and Rana Jung Bahadur. The music of this film is given by, Mukhtar Sahota.


On the release of her debut film, Simrrann says, `I am super excited and thrilled to be part of this film. Being a Sardarni, making my debut in a Punjabi movie was like home coming for me. I feel blessed to be associated with a such an amazing star cast and play a character like Sahiba. I believe the movie will surely make its place in hearts of the audience. Having said that, I am intrigued to see the audiences' reception towards the movie and my performance.`
