The Bollywood star was the subject of much vitriol from Jade and fellow housemates Danielle Lloyd and Jo O'Meara during the programme, with allegations of racism prompting 46,000 complaints from viewers which spiralled into an international incident.
And now after the conclusion of this season of the reality TV show, while Shetty is enjoying a massive boost in popularity, her tormentors have hit rock bottom. Jo and Danielle are struggling to resurrect their careers, and Jade has checked into the Priory to overcome her stress and depression.
Speculation had grown about a possible television enterprise which might see Shilpa sharing on screen space with her tormentors again, but in an interview with Reveal magazine she refuted having any such plans.
"I am no Samaritan - I'm just human. If anybody thinks I can resurrect somebody's career or character, they're wrong, it's just not possible for me to do," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.
"If I need to speak to Jade, I don't need to do it as a publicity stunt - I'll do it in private, between ourselves," she said
