ALTBalaji's upcoming series 'The Verdict - State Vs Nanavati' has piqued the interest of the audience ever since the show was announced. The show is based on the real-life story of the Nanavati case from 1959, director Shashant Shah opened up about the show and talked about the tremendous research he has done across the city to maintain the realistic touch to the story.

Talking about the web series Director Shashant Shah shares, "We obviously did a lot of R&D on the era of 1959. From referring to old archival footage and pictures of Bombay to finding places which reflect that old world charm. Luckily for me, Bombay has some beautiful sets and locations, which are still stuck in time. Hence with the creative inputs from Ekta Kapoor, Shubash Kapoor and Samar Khan and recreation of sets and setups by Mr Wasiq Khan, our Production Designer, set lighting and style by Mr. Mohana Krishna my DOP and of course the VFX team we were able to achieve that vintage touch and make it look so authentic". This real incident which had once shaken the nation received unprecedented attention from the media and also inspired several books and films that time. To bring back this mysterious story the director will once again present the untold narrative in a more detailed manner.

Directed by Shashant Shah, the 10-episode series is based on the real-life incident of 1959 and follows the trial of naval officer KM Nanavati who shot three bullets from his revolver at a businessman and later confessed his crime to the police. Even after six decades the infamous story of K.M. Nanavati Vs. The state of Maharashtra is still one of the most sensational criminal cases in India and mark a landmark judgment in the history of India.

ALTBalaji's The Verdict - State Vs Nanavati will have a whole host of theatre veterans playing pivotal roles which is all set to release on September 30.
