Kawas Manekshaw Nanavati was a highly decorated officer and was going to be the next navy chief. He received accolades for his work and dedication towards serving the nation from Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He was also a highly diplomatic socialized man and during the trial of the case, the whole nation was rooting for him and wanted him to get out of jail

The state of Maharashtra is still one of the most sensational criminal cases in India and marks a landmark judgment in the history of India.
