Arun Khetpal was born on 14 October 1950 in Pune, Maharashtra, his father Lt Col (later Brigadier) ML Khetarpal, was a Corps of Engineers officer in the Indian Army. Khetarpal joined the National Defence Academy in June 1967.
Khetarpal started his military life on 13 June 1971 and during the Indo-Pakistan War on 16 December 1971, 17 Poona Horses, Khetarpal's regiment, were appointed under the command of the 47th Infantry Brigade of the Indian Army. During the period of the conflict, the 47th Brigade was stationed in the Shakargarh sector itself, in a short military life of 6 months, he made the supreme sacrifice for the country, for which he was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra on Republic Day 1972 by the Government of India.
Talking about Varun Dhawan's next films, he will soon be seen opposite Shraddha Kapoor in 'Street Dancer', directed by Remo D'Souza. The film will be released on 24 January next year.
