In Wednesday's episode of KBC a question was presented which had 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj' as one of the options but the Chhhatrapati's name was mentioned as just 'Shivaji' which outraged many people and it sparked a controversy for which the makers of the show even displayed an apology on Thursday's episode but that is not it.
The Nationalist Congress Party started a protest and demanded an apology from the channel and the makers of the show. They even slammed Amitabh Bachchan for mentioning Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as just 'Shivaji' while reading out the options disrespecting the great Maratha ruler.
The makers of the show have apologized and said "There was an inaccurate reference to Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj during the episode, due to inadvertence. We deeply regret the same".
However, according to a tweet by NCP chief spokesperson Nawab Malik, the channel authorities have submitted a written apology to them. Protestors still gathered outside Sony TV's office and raised slogans of 'Amitabh Bachchan Murdabaad'.
