Deemed as the `wedding anthem of the year`, multi-talented West Indies cricketer, Dwayne Bravo a.k.a DJ Bravo, has teamed up with popular choreographer, dancer and television personality, Shakti Mohan of Dance India Dance and Dance Plus fame, for a thumping new single titled 'The Chamiya Song' produced by the music entertainment company Songfest India and supported by Hike Sticker Chat.

Besides his cricketing heroics, Bravo's additional skill, singing, has made waves worldwide in the recent past. One of the best T20 players in the world, he rose to relevance in 2016 with his music when he released the worldwide smash hit 'Champion' which clocked in over 100 million views. After dabbling in music as a hobby for years, the all-rounder has been credited for singles like 'Chalo Chalo', 'Caribbean Dream', 'Love You Baby', 'Too Easy', 'Done D War', 'Jaeger Bomb', and 'Yen Da'. In 2017 he released 'Asia' featuring cricketers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan featuring names like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Shahid Afridi, Shakib Al Hasan, Rashid Khan, Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara.

Releasing in December 2019, 'The Chamiya Song' is written by Anurag Bhomia, composed by well-known music composer and YouTuber Gaurav Dagaonkar and also features Punjabi-Thai singer-songwriter Rimi Nique of India Raw Star and The Voice fame who has sung for ABCD 2 and Race 3, on the vocals along with Gaurav and Bravo. The video which brings to the fore the extravagance of Indian weddings is directed by Onboard Films and choreographed by celebrity choreographer Rahul Shetty, who was last seen in ABCD and Nach Baliye, and also features 4 popular TikTok influencers such as Garima Chaurasia, Zaid Darbar, Shayan Siddiqui and Aliya Hamidi.

DJ Bravo states, `I have always been fascinated by the wedding culture of India and given an opportunity I can gatecrash any Indian wedding because I love the entertaining fanfare associated with weddings. This song is an urban, sprightly and beguiling number that is apt for Indian weddings. Earlier this year, I was working alongside Rimi Nique on a gig and accidently heard her humming the song during soundcheck. The hook word 'Chamiya' instantly caught my attention as it resonated with 'Champion'. Thereafter the two us jumped into the studio during IPL and the rest is history. Similar to 'Champion' we will be launching a nationwide dance move called 'The Chamiya Step', that's certainly going to go viral. The track will mark my maiden attempt in a Bollywood-esque single in which I will be singing and rapping in Hindi and Punjabi.`

Shakti Mohan adds, `When I heard the track initially, I was super excited about the vibe of the song and it almost took me back to my sister's wedding celebrations! It's an extremely upbeat track with a very catchy hook step that we have eatablished now. And of course, It's going to be lots of fun shooting with Dwayne.`

Gaurav Dagaonkar of Songfest who is the brainchild behind the project and also the singer-composer elaborates, `DJ Bravo's 'Champion' was widely popular and continues to be engraved in the minds of the masses. With regards to The Chamiya Song we wanted to present a new facet to his musical innings and we are certain fans across the globe will appreciate our endeavor.`

One of the West Indies' most valuable all-rounders in the recent decade, Bravo who announced his retirement from international cricket in 2018 has hinted to come out of his retirement and play for his country again. He still continues to play T20 cricket for franchises like the Chennai Super Kings (IPL), Gujarat Lions (IPL), Lahore Qalandars (PSL), Melbourne Renegades (BBL), Melbourne Stars (BBL), Mumbai Indians (IPL), Peshawar Zalmi (PSL), Sydney Sixers (BBL), Trinbago Knight Riders (CPL), Winnipeg Hawks (Canada). He recently played for Maratha Arabians who were crowned as the winning team of the Abu Dhabi T10 League. Along with his spectacular death bowling and explosive batting, Bravo has made a name for himself by creating viral music tracks.
