The trailer of Deepika Padukone's upcoming film 'Chhapak' has been released and after watching this you'll feel rattled. This film is the story of Malti, who has an acid attack in the year 2005 and her entire face gets spoiled after which her life is no longer normal.

What happens with Malti breaks it completely. Despite this, instead of giving up on life, Malti decides to fight to get justice and what she has to face in order to get justice for herself and thousands of girls like this is the story of Meghna Gulzar's 'Chhapaak'.



Deepika Padukone has aced her character as Malti. When Malti sees her face in the mirror for the first time after surgery, her painful scream keeps echoing for a long time in your ears. Vikrant Massey is as good in his character as ever.

'Chhapaak' is inspired by the life of real-life acid attack supervisor Lakshmi Agrawal and her husband Alok Dixit. Through her story, the film makes an attempt to understand the on-ground consequences of surviving an acid attack in India, the medico-legal-social state of affairs that transpires after the acid has been hurled and the face is irreparably burnt.   

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Produced by Fox Star Studios, Deepika Padukone, Govind Singh Sandhu, and Meghna Gulzar, written by Atika Chohan and Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak is set to hit theatres on 10th January 2020.
