Film producer Gaurang Doshi, charged with assaulting actress Flora Saini, today told a court here that he had been framed by her for monetary gains.

Saini filed a complaint on February 15 that said she had sustained injuries and a fractured jaw after Doshi, producer of films like "Aankhen", assaulted her.

Doshi moved a sessions court to seek anticipatory bail, which was opposed by Saini.

In her affidavit filed on February 27, Saini said Doshi had been threatening her and had in his possession important documents and valuables belonging to her.

She alleged that Doshi had tried to sabotage her career.

In an application filed in the court today, Doshi alleged that he had been falsely implicated in the case and had not assaulted Saini.

He alleged that Saini filed the complaint for publicity and money.

The court adjourned the hearing of the application until March 8 as Saini's lawyer was absent today.
