Popular actor Virendra Saxena and TV actor Preetika Chauhan essay the key roles in the film which has been produced and directed by Kritik Kumar. South based Kashvi Kanchan has played the lead role of the rape victim in the film. Rajesh Singh, Shahbaz Baweja and Amit Shukla have played important roles in the film. On the occasion of the launch of the poster of the film which has been made under the banner of Fashion Parade Films Produce by Fashion Parade Films too and Co-produce by 21st Century Arts all the three -Virendra Saxena, who plays the father of the rape victim and Preetika Chauhan, who plays the role of a TV reporter and the producer director Kritik Kumar were present to address the media.
On the occasion of the poster launch of the film at a hall in Andheri, all present stood silent for a minute to pray for the victims of rape and the event started with the lighting of the candles. Kritik Kumar averred that though the investigation made in the Nirbhaya case has already been shown in several films, only what happened in the bus and how were shown but my film is based on rape cases which are held all over the country.
Expressing his grave concern over the rising number of cases of sexual assault on women in the country at large, Virendra Saxena lamented that though earlier there were only one or two cases, such incidents of rape are on the increase over the years now. It is high time that all of us took such cases seriously. We should teach our boys to respect the girls though the government and the judiciary are there to decide on how to punish the culprits. Films like Dilli Kaand make an attempt to drive home some pertinent message or the other. It is only films like Dilli Kaand which are able to leave a great impact in society.`
The shooting of the film Dilli Kaand is complete and the film is slated for release by January 2020. There are five songs in the film. Singers like Aditya Narayan and Javed Ali have crooned the romantic, revolutionary as well as pathos ridden songs for the film.
