In a short span of time, ZEE5 has successfully established goodwill and delivered binge-worthy content across 12 languages. The platform also won 25+ awards across categories for content in Hindi and Regional languages.  

The subscription base of ZEE5 has grown many folds this year and consumer interaction. Here is a list of some must-watch series on ZEE5 in 2019 and a sneak peek into some of our upcoming series.

Kaafir (Hindi)

An Original Series starring Dia Mirza and Mohit Raina is based on a true story and it encompasses the journey of a young Pakistani mother who comes to India under unusual circumstances and is unable to go back home. The series revolves around the relationship between this woman, accused of militancy, and her lawyer who makes her justice his sole objective.

 

The Final Call (Hindi)
 
A ZEE5 Original thriller series starring Arjun Rampal, Neeraj Kabi, Javed Jaffrey, Sakshi Tanwar, Anupriya Goenka and Vipin Sharma. When Captain Karan Sachdev, the pilot of Skyline flight 502, decides to end his life by committing suicide, he puts the lives of over 250 passengers in danger. Airline officer Kiran Mirza, along with the ATS team, swing into action to save the passengers on board.  



Barot House (Hindi - Original Film)
 
An Original film starring Amit Sadh, Manjari Fadnnis, and Aaryan Menghji. Inspired by real-life events, the story revolves around the loving Barot family whose happiness is short-lived after their daughter is found brutally murdered in the house, under mysterious circumstances.  

 

Posham Pa (Hindi - Original Film)
 
An Original film psychological thriller starring Mahie Gill, Sayani Gupta, and Ragini Khanna. Inspired by true events, the film narrates the story of India's first female duo to be awarded the death penalty by the court of law for committing a series of murders.  

 

Hutatma (Marathi)

  A Marathi Original series starring Anjali Patil, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi, Sachin Khedekar and Arif Zakaria. Based on Meena Deshpande's novel of the same name, the series narrates the story of how the state of Maharashtra came into existence with Bombay as its capital. It narrated the epic story of the Samyukta Maharashtra Movement and the struggles of the Marathi manus.  

 

  Auto Shankar (Tamil)

Auto Shankar a Tamil Original Series starring Sarath Appani, Selvapandian, Rajesh Dev, Vasudha and others . The story is based on horrifying true incidents that happened between 1985 - 1995 in Chennai, still remembered as 'Once upon a time in Madras'.

  Shukranu:

Shukranu is a story based on the sterilization drive which was forced upon individuals during the emergency rule in India in 1976. Sterilization was no longer a choice - it was a mandate. It is a slice of life film starring Divyendu Sharma, Shweta Basu and Sheetal Thakur. Produced by Reliance Entertainment and directed by national award winning Bishnu Dev Halder.     

Stage of Siege 26/11:

The series is based on a book which is true to account narrative of the various events that turned into the prolonged terror siege of Mumbai on 26th November 2008. This series is all set to highlight the glaring truth of how the financial capital of India was caught off guard with a terror attack and how the authorities improvised with the best available resources at their disposal at that point in time. The series has an eclectic cast starring Arjan Bajwa, Arjun Bijlani, Mukul Dev, Vivek Dahiya amongst others  

  Operation Parindey:
 
Operation Parindey is a fictional account of one of the most controversial jailbreaks in the history of India. Inspired by true events, the story is a fast-paced action thriller based on interesting events and happenings post-surgical strikes. The film is being directed by Sanjay Gadhvi of the Dhoom franchise (Dhoom 1 & 2) and features an impressive cast comprising Amit Sadh, Rahul Dev, Ameet Gaurr,  Kunal Kumar, Aakash Dhaiya, Rucha Inamkar amongst others.    

Never Kiss Your Best Friend:

Never Kiss Your Best Friend is a story of two best friends, reconnecting after a long separation and the existence of a curious history between them, grappling with their complicated feelings for each other. The story plays across two timelines; their youth when their friendship was the highlight of both their lives and their adulthood when they seem to have met after years of separation.  The series is based on Sumrit Shahi's novel Never Kiss Your Best Friend.
