This is the second time after 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha' (2017) when Bhoomi and Akshay will be seen together. Durgavati is the Hindi remake of a Telugu horror film 'Bhagmati' where Bhumi will be playing the titular role. This film will be the story of a woman under investigation in connection with a corruption case and who is living in a haunted house.

Talking about this film, Bhumi had said that this is her most difficult film to date and she is nervous as well as very excited about it. Directed by Ashok, Durgavati is produced by Vikram Malhotra, Akshay Kumar, and Bhushan Kumar and will release by the end of this year.
