Set in Palghar, the short film starts with Jeet (Adeeb Rais) who visits Mrs. Deshpande (Supriya Pilgaonkar) and her niece Tulika (Shivani Raghuvanshi) and they spend the day sharing their personal experiences of the grief of losing their loved ones. The 20-minute short film gently addresses various important issues like Suicide, Depression and Ragging in a subtle and sensitive manner. The film leaves you with a bundle of mixed emotions urging the viewer to think and question our society and parenting skills.
Supriya Pilgaonkar creates magic on screen. She portrays the character of a mother grieving over her son's death with utmost ease and sincerity. Actors Shivani Raghuvanshi & Sankalp Joshi play their parts effortlessly and lend good support to the protagonists. Actor-Director Adeeb Rais, does full justice to both his departments. He lends an inherent charm and honesty to his character and at the same time handles the sensitive subject with great maturity.
Rais proves that limited use of camera movement highlights the fact that simple shot taking can be beautiful. Every frame feels meticulously designed like a painting. The sound design by Vinit Gala and background music by Atharva Joshi add to the emotional impact of the film.
Kudos to the team for bringing such relevant issues to the fore front and packaging it in such a nuanced and impactful manner.
