Music Director: Himesh Reshammiya

Rating: **1/2
Director Suneel Darshan's "Shakalaka Boom Boom", with music by Himesh Reshammiya, is an okay soundtrack. It has just a few good numbers on offer for music lovers.
Shaan deserves special mention while Himesh seems a little low throughout except for the title track.
A 90-second track comes in the form of "Aaj nahi toh kal", which resembles "I love you for what you are" from the film "Aap Ki Khatir". Sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Shaan, it turns out to be a passable number.
To continue the chain of passable numbers is "Dil lagaayenge" by Himesh and Akriti Kakkar. There's nothing interesting about this song despite Himesh giving it his signature touch. Even the beats don't promise a dance track and the music is just bad composition.
Shaan lends his voice to "Isi umeed pe" for approximately two minutes, which seems quite abrupt. An average number, the song fares slightly better than the previous two.
When you hear "Naamumkin", you actually feel that Himesh is finally doing what he likes and what he does well. He loves emoting for slow-paced, emotional numbers and this is quite evident from the way he sings the track. The song gets a little boring mid-way but, nevertheless, is a good track for those who are diehard fans of the singer with the nasal twang.
Another short composition by Shaan is "Rukhsat" that turns out well for a Shaan-Himesh combo. Shaan does a good job yet again while the beats are not so great.
"Saathiya", sung by Kunal Ganjawala and Sunidhi, is not a lengthy song but both the singers fail to live up to expectations.
"Shakalaka boom boom" turns out to be the best track of the album with Himesh trying his hand at some rap along with his natural style. The song's got the Himesh stamp all over it and is definitely a dance number. A turning point in the album, this track also has Akriti crooning alongside. All together, an above average track with good rhythmic beats.
Kunal and Sunidhi return to give a better composition in "Tera sona sona roop". Kunal, however, sounds quite similar to Himesh and doesn't give anything new. Again an average and short number.
A love number that is young and peppy finally gets its turn in the album. "Thaare vaaste" sounds very nice. Shaan and Sunidhi do a great job in turning this track into a fun, light track.
The "Medley Mix" is a piece that comprises short songs featured earlier in the album - a good try.
"Shakalaka Boom Boom" doesn't live up to its title name, as it doesn't give anything dynamic, which is so expected of a Himesh album.
