Ali Fazal posted on Valentines' day on Instagram holding up a placard that said," The only date I want this Valentine's is Mirzapur Release date". The same placard was held up by Shweta Tripathi and Harshita Gaur, his co-stars from Mirzapur, in two different pictures.
The plot revolves around drugs, guns, and lawlessness. It depicts the putrescence, governance, and rule of mafia dons and the rivalry and crime prevailing in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh.
Mirzapur is the third Indian original fiction by Amazon Prime after 'Inside Edge' and 'Breathe'. And the phenomenal performances of 'Sacred Games' and 'Mirzapur' have attracted a lot of attention to India from streaming services.
The majority of the cast members are supposed to return for the second season. Ali Fazal will play Guddu Pandit, and Rajesh Talling will play Guddu's father, Ramakant Pandit. We might see Divyendu Sharma back as Munna, and Pankaj Tripathi as his father Akhandanand Tripathi (Kalin Bhaiya). Additionally, Bablu, which is played by Vikrant Massey might also return! So, it will be a treat to watch the gangster family crime drama again! The release date is not yet confirmed but we can expect it before November-December 2020.
Amazon also shared a teaser for the next season two months ago. Check it out here:
