The trailer of IT HAPPENED IN CALCUTTA is already doing the rounds on the internet for its unique storyline and creating waves of excitement amongst audiences. Adding to this excitement, ALTBalaji and ZEE5 brings launched a beautiful and soulful track of Ekla Chalo Re, continuing the trend of soulful original soundtracks in web-series. 'Ekla Chalo Re' is a song that makes one believe in the power of oneself. When Calcutta was in distress with war, epidemic and political turmoil during the 60s and 70s, these beautiful words gave people the strength to carry on. This beautiful melody will leave the fans mesmerized in this unique period drama that features Karan Kundrra and Naghma Rizwan.

The track 'Ekla Chalo Re' is curated and conceptualized by Varun Prabhudayal Gupta for which music is composed by Rahul Ranadip. Crooned melodiously in the voice of Rahul Mukherjee, Pooja Shankar, Ranadip Bhaskar and Nishan Gupta, the beautiful rendition of this popular song motivates one to walk on their path alone. Portraying the conflict of love in the darkest hours of the 1960's and 70's this song crafts the journey of how Kusum and Ronobir walk miles to serve the nation as doctors, leaving their personal battles behind.



It Happened in Calcutta It is a story of Kusum, a young, innocent but strong-headed girl who becomes the first female doctor in a male-dominated society on the 1960s but falls in love with Ronobir, a privileged, arrogant and flamboyant boy in college. What follows is a series of events, leading to the separation that makes Kusum lose faith in Ronobir & love. A part of this period drama also showcases the Indo-Pak war of 1971 and deals with the cholera outbreak while taking viewers to a completely different world altogether. Directed by Ken Ghosh, It Happened in Calcutta features a talented set of actors like Karan Kundrra, Naghma Rizwan, Harman Singha, Pamela Bhutoria, Sunanda Wong, Simran Kaur Mundi amongst others!
